Man Utd player ratings vs Chelsea as Martinez and three 3/10s let team down
Chelsea scored two second-half goals as they capitalised on a Manchester United collapse to pile even more pressure on Michael Carrick, who is edging closer and closer to the sack. A thrilling first half somehow ended scoreless, with both teams seeing goals disallowed for offsides, before the Blues turned the screw to condemn United to their ninth game without victory in all competitions. The visitors could quite easily have gone in at half-time with a two-goal lead after Bruno Fernandes and Amad both missed the target when they should have scored.
TL;DR
- Chelsea scored two second-half goals to defeat Manchester United.
- Manchester United extended their winless streak to nine games across all competitions.
- Lisandro Martinez received a red card for a second yellow in two minutes, resulting in a penalty for Chelsea.
- United players Bruno Fernandes and Amad missed significant scoring opportunities in the first half.
- Harry Maguire and Mason Mount received particularly low player ratings.
- The result leaves Manchester United just one point above the Premier League relegation zone.
