Clavicular Denies Rape Charge as Court Imposes Bail Conditions
Influencer Braden Peters, known as Clavicular, pleaded not guilty to rape-related charges tied to an alleged 2025 assault. Prosecutors’ allegations and Peters’ denial now face scrutiny as the case proceeds.
Braden Peters, the 20-year-old influencer known as Clavicular, has pleaded not guilty to felony rape and related charges stemming from an alleged encounter with a 17-year-old girl at his family’s Massachusetts home in May 2025.
The prosecution’s account, as reported by the BBC, centers on the complainant’s age and alleged intoxication during a livestream before the reported assault. A police officer who took the report said he believed she was unable to consent because of “her age and the level of intoxication she exhibited in the livestream.”1 Peters faces charges including rape, drugging an individual for sexual intercourse and providing alcohol to a person under 21.1
Peters, whose online content promotes so-called “looksmaxxing,” contests that account. His attorney, David Meier, said Peters “categorically denies these allegations,” arguing that Peters and the complainant had a professional and personal relationship that continued after the alleged incident.2 Another attorney previously described the civil claims as unproven and said Peters would defend himself through legal channels.2
The contrasting accounts also extend to a civil lawsuit, which alleges that the complainant was given alcohol until she appeared visibly intoxicated and was later subjected to nonconsensual sex. The lawsuit further alleges Peters administered an unapproved fat-dissolving injection; those are civil allegations, not findings by a court.2
At Thursday’s hearing, Peters was granted $10,000 bail. He was ordered not to contact or post about the complainant and to surrender his passport.1 He is due back in court on 24 November, when a judge is expected to consider whether the evidence is sufficient for the criminal case to move forward.1
